Spencer's notes: "This (forced encore) karaoke performance capped off and incredible night at an Okinawan restaurant in Osaka, wherein 99 might be an understatement (probably needless to say). I don't know the gentleman's name who accompanied us on the Taiko drum, but he was a regular (patron and performer) at the restaurant. At the time he was also acting as volunteer MC, so it his voice heard as the announcer."

David's notes: "Hurry The F_ck Up - started as a series of emotional states and angst about the speed I had been working for the last few months - then it refined into something a little more kind. I like to think that some of that raw pissed off state of mind still remains."

Lynn's notes: "Written for FAWM 2009. The "only five notes" assignment was interpreted as pentatonic scale. The field recording audio is Waves on Beach by Acclivity, available at The Freesound Project."

Spencer's notes: "This recording was initially made with my brother in 1992, using a method of layering tracks additionally with the use of a cassette-to-cassette karaoke machine which let you record from left to right AND dub over with a single mic input. By the end of the recording, the earliest tracks laid down are 5th or 6th generation copies of themselves, all but buried and unrecognizable."

They (they call themselves 'untitled', but I refuse to legitimize that) only play once ever 8 years, and are composed of 3 mandolin players who sing in beautiful harmony. I wish they'd gain popularity, but they're so obscure they don't even have a myspace page."

Inspired by a bit of Aphex Twin and Bjork with the whole white noise thing. 'Being' in the title refers not to an entity but to existence."

Christopher's notes: "So when I heard this weeks' assignment I was all 'yeah, let's do some dubstep', and spent ages farting about with Rebirth and generally getting nowhere. Then I had a flash of inspiration, took all the strings off my guitar except the top and bottom E, took the middle out of the amplifier and went all post-rock on your arses.

There's some really good low-end feedback in there if your speakers can handle it...
